OK, so I have mainly been shooting 260 and 308 and paying a lot for FGMM and similar. Now I have ordered a windrunner from the Hurricane Utah gang and 408 dies from the southern california edm guys I am committed to loading/reloading. I also figure that after the revolution reloading skills may keep me out of the soylent green (ha ha)

I am leaning towards getting a Forster co-ax press, the rcbs 1500 scale (with the auto trickler)and not sure on case trimmer....

lots of other little stuff needed. I appreciate any recommendations either to my default choices or the "other" stuff

ALSO: what powder do you recommend for the .408? Thanks

    fracmeister,

    Welcome to the forum btw.

And welcome to the world of "how much further can I shoot" lol.

    I personaly use the following:

The big RCBS with the removable bushing in the thread area so that the big dies can be screwed into it and can put that bushing back for normal dies.

    Dillon Electronic Scale

    RCBS primer station

    Redding (IIRC) deburring tool

    K&M primer pocket tool

    Reloader 25

    Thanks

Is the "big RCBS" the Ammomaster? Are the .408 dies the large dies as well?

I had been leaning to the Forster co-ax. Thoughts?

Also, do you find yourself needing to trim .408 cases often?

    Thanks

More specifically --- are .408 dies standard 7/8 by 14?

Your not going to be running 408 ammo through a Co-Ax press.

The dies are way to large.

Use the Co-Ax for your standard rounds and buy a large press to run the 408 rounds.

Thanks -- so is the Ammomaster the RCBS size you mention?

Please take dutiful note of the Xbox 360 and television in the work area. Great use of downtime, Jimmy. lol
